Vintage Mid-Century Modern Vontury Studio Pottery "Bulb" Vase - Hand-Signed Porcelain
A rare and exceptional example of mid-century modern (MCM) studio pottery by renowned Hungarian-American master ceramicist F. J. Von Tury (1901–1992). This tall, bottle-necked "bulb" vase is hand-thrown in fine porcelain and showcases the artist's unique "single firing" process.
Design: The vase features a hand-painted botanical motif of Magnolia blossoms in earthy brown against a pale seafoam green ground.
Signature: Authentically hand-inscribed "Vontury" on the unglazed bottom base.
Era: Circa 1940s–1950s.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or crazing. Original Von Tury sticker is intact on the side, and the hand etched signature is clear and present on the bottom.
Historical Significance: Von Tury's work gained international fame at the 1935 and 1939 World's Fairs and is currently held in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian National Museum of American History.
