A Rare Art Deco Treasure from the House of Houbigant. Own a piece of Parisian beauty history with this iconic Houbigant hexagonal compact. Dating back to the 1920s-1930s, this "dainty double" vanity case features the world-renowned "Flower Basket" emblem. This design was the hallmark of Houbigant, one of the oldest and most prestigious perfume houses in France, famously known for creating scents for Marie Antoinette and Napoleon.
Product Highlights: Exquisite Art Deco Design: A unique six-sided (hexagonal) silver-tone case with a stunning cream enamel lid.
Iconic Artwork: The lid features the classic Houbigant multi-colored flower basket, synonymous with their famous Quelques Fleurs fragrance line.
Double Compartment: This "double" model features a hinged mirror that flips up to reveal two separate sections—traditionally used for loose face powder and cream or cake rouge.
Parisian Heritage: Hallmarked with "Houbigant" and "France," making it a highly sought-after piece for collectors of authentic French vanity items.

Inside the Compact:
This rare double-compartment design is a marvel of Art Deco engineering.
The Rouge Tier: Features its original vibrant pink rouge and a delicate, aged rouge puff.
The Powder Tier: A beautifully engine-turned (guilloché) metal well designed to hold loose face powder.
The Hidden Mirror: The central hexagonal partition is actually a flip-up mirror (shown in the open position) that allowed the user to apply both products on the go.
Internal State: The interior shows authentic signs of use that verify its age. The metal reveals a wonderful circular "guilloché" engraving in the powder well.
Cosmetics: Includes original rouge remnants and a vintage puff.
Mirror: The internal flip-mirror is present; it shows some age-related "foxing" or silvering loss, which is highly desirable for collectors who want an untouched, authentic piece.
Mechanics: All three "layers" open and close properly, and the hinge remains tight and functional.

Houbigant Paris: The Perfumer to Royalty Founded in 1775 by Jean-François Houbigant, this legendary house is one of the oldest and most prestigious perfume names in the world. Their history is truly cinematic: Royal Appointments: Houbigant was the official perfumer to the French royal court. Legend has it that Marie Antoinette was carrying three vials of Houbigant perfume in her bodice when she was captured at Varennes. The Napoleon Connection: Years later, Napoleon and his Josephine were devoted customers; Napoleon even had his campaign trunks filled with Houbigant scents before heading off to battle. A Modern Legend: In 1912, the house released Quelques Fleurs (Some Flowers), the fragrance that changed the industry forever. It was the first "multi-floral" bouquet perfume in history, and it is the inspiration behind the flower basket logo seen on your compact. When a collector buys this compact, they aren't just buying a vintage mirror—they are owning a relic from a house that served Queen Victoria, Czar Alexander III, and high society for over two centuries.
