This beautiful rare 1920's era vanity piece features an ornate, Art Deco-style floral and scrollwork design applied in gold tone over black enamel. The brand "Elgin American" was a prominent manufacturer of stylish vanity and smoking accessories in the United States from the 1920s to the 1950s.
As is common for pieces of this age, the enamel paint has seen some wear, as detailed in the photos. This one in particular does still contain the original powder puff and there are some remnants of the original powder within the compartment. All latches and closures are in excellent working order.
