This unique and beautiful soap dish is a combination of two different well known manufacturers: the porcelain plate is Haviland Limoges, and the gilded metal base is a Stylebuilt accessory. The base was added to the plate after manufacture.
This practice was common with decorative items of that era, where a mass-produced porcelain plate would be "married" to an ornate metal base to create a unique decorative piece in the popular Hollywood Regency style.
This item is in excellent vintage condition. No chips or cracks are present.
