Northwood Uranium Custard Glass Spooner • Raised Gold Enamel • Antique Opaline Spoon Holder • Glows Under UV • 1898–1905 Victorian Glass
This stunning antique Northwood custard glass spooner dates to approximately 1898–1905 and showcases the refined artistry of early Northwood production. Made from uranium‑bearing custard glass, it gives a strong, vibrant glow under UV light. The body features a soft pale yellow‑green tone with a beautifully ruffled rim and fluted sides, all accented with hand‑applied raised gold enamel in an ornate leaf‑and‑vine motif.
Pieces from this early Northwood opaline/custard era are far less common than their later carnival glass, and spooners in this condition are especially scarce. The raised gilt is crisp, bright, and shows no wear, making this an exceptional collector’s piece.
